Chapter 1
When I was little I remember my mom telling me about the moon Goddess. She had said the moon Goddess was the one who looked out for us. My mom had said that I was exactly like her. Always curious but wise and intelligent all the same. If that was true then why was I locked up in a cage now? The moon Goddess was supposed to look out for my kind. The kind that run through the forest, hunt animals, and howl at the full moon. The moon Goddess had no name in my language but in human language she was called Luna.
I don't really remember being put into a cage, but I remember the events leading up to me blacking out. I was around seventeen moons, seventeen years in human years, when I had a fight with my father. My father was a strong grey wolf who was pack leader. No one disobeyed him. Well except me. I was the runt of the litter when my brother and sisters were born. I was also different. Instead of the usually grays and browns of my kind, I was white. Pure white, as white as snow falling from the sky in winter but my fur was soft and glossy even in the hard times when we had little food. Despite that my father called me an abomination. That had been the last straw for me.
I had been treated horribly by my kind ever since I was born. Even my own mother said I should not have lived. So in the middle of the night, with the moon Goddess shining down on me, I ran out of the camp and away from the only home I knew. My family didn't want me and I couldn't stand to be treated horribly anymore. I had heard warnings about outside the forest. About humans who killed us or would capture us for experiments. There were not many of my kind because of humans. So I knew I had to be careful, especially if I leave the forest, which I was planning to do. I was planning to explore the world and the human world. I could pass off for the creatures that the humans had. They were relatives of my kind but favored humans.
I didn't have to worry about getting food since I learned how to hunt at a young age. The only threats I would get is from another wolf, not from my pack, or the humans. Thankfully there were no wildcats in this forest. Other forests that I came across I would have to be careful. I decided I would start out running then slow down as I got to the edge of the forest. I noticed as I ran that the forest was quieter than normal. Where were all the nocturnal animals? When I heard a loud bang I skidded to a stop. My ears went flat as I crept forward. In the clearing I came across I smelled blood, deer, and two other things I never smelled before.
In the clearing I saw a couple of deer on the ground bleeding. I knew they were dead because they were not breathing. What caught my attention the most was two beings, or animals were standing next to the deer. The thing was they were standing on two legs. I stared at the weird animals, my thoughts slowly coming to me. When one of them raised a stick looking thing, I realized that they were humans. Humans were in the forest killing deer and who knows what else. No wonder the forest was so quiet.
I watched the humans from the shadows of the bushes hoping they would leave. They were looking at each other and I saw their lips moving. They were talking about something. My ears pricked up when I heard the word wolf. They were talking about my kind, wolves. I was curious now. All too soon, though, they turned and left, leaving the deer behind. I looked at the deer then at where the humans left. I hadn't eaten in days because my father never let me ate. The deer looked really good despite the way it had been killed. I crept forward, praying to the moon Goddess for the deer and myself. Just as I lowered my head to tear into the flesh another bang sounded and I jumped away. I looked up and saw the humans walking towards me with their sticks pointing at me.

I growled baring my teeth but they didn't stop coming at me. When one of them got close to me I launched myself at them and sank my teeth into their arm. The human yelled as I bit him and clawed at him. I was dimly aware of the human yelling at the other to do something. I let go of the human and yelped when I felt pain shear up my hind leg. I jumped back growling. I knew my back leg was bleeding but how I had gotten hurt was beyond me. The human raised his stick at me. The loud bang came from the stick and I collapsed on the ground as pain flared through my whole body. It felt like I was on fire. I whined and twisted as the humans walked over to me. My vision faded slightly and the last thing I saw was the humans standing over me.

Prologue

A thousand years ago, a baby was born. However she died instantly and was reborn as her twin baby sister. Her parents were immortal so it didn't matter that they had another child. They named her Courtney.
What they didn't know was that Courtney was different. Oh she was immortal just like them but there is more to it. Courtney had powers. Powers that were different from superheroes, vampire, and anything else. No one knew except for Courtney.
Courtney found out she was different when she was three years old. She wanted to tell her parents but they didn't seem to really care about her. A man, she later came to call sensei, found her in the streets cowering back from vampires. Of course Courtney didn't know they were vampires. The man saved her and took her under his wing. He trained her to use her powers for good. The training consisted of healing, teleporting from place to place/ time to time, mind speaking, and many other things.
After awhile Courtney became happy. The man treated her like his daughter but not quite like a daughter. After a year Courtney met two five year old boys. The three became friends instantly. One was named John, who had brown hair and eyes. The other was named Brad, who had black hair and eyes. Courtney had hazel hair and green eyes, different from her parents.
As they got older, the three became closer. When Courtney turned 14, she realized that she felt more than just friendship for Brad. Brad, however, didn't bother with her love. One day Brad disappeared. Two years later he came back different. He was a vampire, an evil one at that. John (nicknamed Ace by Courtney) and Courtney pulled away from him.
Courtney and Ace spent the rest of their life fighting him. However neither Ace nor Courtney were able to kill him, because of their once friendship.

Chapter 1

I don't remember how it started. I think it started with my fight with my mom. I had been in my room when my mom had come home drunk. My father had left when I was little and now my mom was dating anybody who came along. When I went downstairs I hadn't been thinking what would happen. My mom looked up from the phone and narrowed her eyes when she saw me.
I ducked quickly before she was able to hit me. For some odd reason she blamed me for my father leaving. When she took at step towards me I took one back. I knew she was angry for some reason and not because she was drunk. I ducked again when she tried to hit me.
"Are you trying to fail school?!" she yelled at me.
I knew instantly what this was about. "Well maybe if you stopped drinking and stop dating guys who beat me, my life would be easier." I said angrily.
We started yelling at each other for awhile. Every time she struck out at me, with words, I would strike back. I was fifteen but I already knew how to cook, drive and many other things. Eventually I grew tired of yelling and decided to walk out. I pulled out my cell phone and called two of the bad kids that I had started to hang with. I told them to meet me at the abandoned apartments next to fire department.
A couple minutes after they showed up we started to cross the street when two flashes of light came into the street. It was a sleek black car heading out way.
"Crap it's my dad." one of them said.
We sprinted across the street and into abandoned apartment. Inside part of the walls had collapsed leaving holes. The upstairs, however, looked like someone still lived there. That's we were heading. My two friends went into the living room that had four windows with two doors, one leading to the bathroom.
I made my way to the second bathroom. When I was inside I head a crash outside. I ran out and saw five people in the living room. Three were men and two were woman. I briefly saw my friends against the wall staring. What really caught my attention was how beautiful they all looked. The three men had smooth skin with brown hair, and one black. One had black eyes another had brown and the last had blue eyes. I turned my attention to the two women. The first had short spiked flaming red hair with hazel eyes. The other had black hair and black eyes.
The woman, with the red hair, stepped forward. "What are you doing in our home?" she asked.
The man, with the blue eyes, stepped forward. "Victoria lets here what they have to say." he said.
"Lariten is it wise to do what Craig said to do?" Victoria asked.
I slowly moved to my friends as the man, with black hair and black eyes, stepped forward. He was obviously the leader. I froze when he looked at me. Then he turned to the last man.
"Kyle go guard the door. Isabeau go with him. Both of you stay within hearing." Lariten said.
Suddenly Craig took a step towards me. I pressed myself against the wall even though I wanted to go to him. Why? I don't even know the half of it. My friends stood up defiantly.
"How come you claim this as your home?" I asked.
"We've been living here since we moved. How did you find this place?" Craig asked.
"We've been coming here for the last year." I said.

Somehow we all ended up in the living room drinking. I don't remember much of the conversations. I did remember sitting next to Craig all the time. I also remembered Victoria glaring at me as Craig paid me more attention than her. I also remember passing out in Craig's lap. For someone, who has been beaten by her mother's boyfriends all her life, it felt nice to get wasted and unaware of life.
